TWISTER MATH GAME

Twister math game is not original with me.  Unfortunately, it was just an idea I filed away and don't have the original source.  It can be used for addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.  The answers are taped to the circles.  The child places arms and legs on the answers.  A fun way to review!

TABLE GAMES ARE STILL ALIVE AND WELL!

Table games are still alive and well -- and great to use when homeschooling!  As you can see from the picture, often new or nearly-new games can be found at yard sales and thrift stores inexpensively.  Racko teaches sequencing of numbers.  Numerous other card games can be used for addition, subtraction or even spelling.

We keep a collage box of all kinds of materials:  buttons, rick-rack, colored toothpicks, yarn, foam pieces, buttons, craft sticks, etc.

GOING ON A PROBLEM HUNT - MATH ACTIVITY

Whenever possible, try to make learning fun!  Perhaps one day instead of doing math problems on a sheet of paper,  cut out fun shapes and put the problems on the back of the shapes.  Attach to walls, windows, doors, cabinets.  The child "hunts" for each problem in order, works the problem, gets an okay that it is correct, and then "hunts" for the next problem.
